What causes swelling on the side of the tongue?

Hello, Doctor,
I am a 43-year-old female, 5 feet and 7 inches tall, weighing around 147.71 pounds. I have swelling at the side of my tongue. It looks like a bubble. I had it a few weeks back, it went, and now it has returned. It does not hurt to touch. I have also been experiencing gut problems (twisting pain initially, then a need to empty my bowels, and now more generally it is a general discomfort from time to time, flatulence, and bloating). Stools are tending to be on the loose side, mostly pale/yellow in color. I am hypertensive and have been on 5 mg of Amlodipine for the last two years.
