Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I believe I have broken my right side molar in half vertically. The left side is very loose and I cannot bare any pressure without significant pain.
What is the best course of action without insurance and can the tooth be saved?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
If the broken part is not causing much pain, try to eat something sticky like wet dates or eclairs type candy or chocolate so the broken part gets removed through it and then follow this antibiotic regime for three days.
Tablet Augmentin (Amoxicillin + Clavulanic acid) 625 mg twice a day, tablet Metronidazole 400 mg twice a day, tablet Brufen (Ibuprofen) 400 mg twice a day or eight hourly if the pain is severe.
Hopefully, the tooth will get okay if this is a slight fracture but if it is hurting you badly there is no option other than extraction of the whole tooth. You should get it extracted as soon as possible otherwise you cannot eat from this side. Give me follow up after three days about your condition.
Stay happy and blessed.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.
