Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am having a severe toothache in my bottom teeth, on the right side. I am 5 feet, female, and weigh around 271.17 pounds.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I am really sorry you are in so much pain. A severe toothache can feel overwhelming, and it often means something deeper is going on, such as an infection, decay, or a problem with the gums. Because the pain is severe and focused on one side, it is important not to ignore it. Toothaches rarely get better on their own, and the longer they are left untreated, the worse they can become.
The best step is to contact a dentist as soon as possible so they can examine the area and find the cause. In the meantime, you might find some relief by gently rinsing your mouth with warm salty water, keeping your head slightly raised when lying down, and avoiding very hot, cold, or sweet foods that can trigger the pain.
If the discomfort is severe, you can take over‑the‑counter painkillers, such as Paracetamol (up to 4,000 mg per day) or Ibuprofen (up to 1,200 mg per day), always following the packet instructions. These two medicines can be taken together, for example, alternating doses or using them at the same time, as long as you do not exceed the maximum daily limit for each, but this is only a temporary measure.
Please do not delay seeking professional care; getting it checked quickly will help ease your pain and prevent complications.
I hope this information will help you.
Kindly follow up if you have any further concerns.
Thank you.
