Twenty nail dystrophy is a condition affecting fingers and toes. The nail becomes rough, thin, and brittle in this condition. Any number of nails may be affected. Dystrophic nails occur due to a complication of trauma or other dermatologic conditions such as atopic dermatitis, lichen planus, and psoriasis. It is treated by buffing the nails, taking oral biotin supplements, and injecting triamcinolone into the nail matrix.
