Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My adolescent daughter was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and we are adjusting to this new reality. Can you offer advice on how to manage a young person with type 1 diabetes's everyday life, including diet, insulin therapy, and emotional support?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Type 1 diabetes is most commonly diagnosed in infancy and is caused by the death of beta cells in the pancreas, which are responsible for insulin production in the body. As a result, insulin is not produced, resulting in high blood sugar and diabetes. Insulin treatment is used to provide insulin that is not produced by the body so that the patient can live a normal life. Using insulin treatment in conjunction with a healthy diet, such as limiting sweets, can help to prevent blood sugar spikes in the body. Counseling can be beneficial because this is a problem that can be adequately treated with some insulin from outside sources. The rest of life goes on as usual, and the person may have a normal life.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
