Why do I feel tired, thirsty, and weak all the time?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been extremely thirsty for three months, drinking water constantly day and night, but never feeling satisfied. I have been urinating every 25 to 35 minutes, including 10 to 11 times nightly, which exhausts me.

I am experiencing the following symptoms:

  • Ravenous hunger constantly, and eating much larger portions.

  • Unintentional weight loss of 25 pounds over three months.

  • Profound exhaustion and weakness, struggling with even simple daily tasks and work.

  • Minor cuts, scrapes, and blisters on hands and feet take five to seven weeks to heal instead of days.

  • Increasingly blurry vision, especially when reading or using computers, is affecting work.

Both parents have type 2 diabetes in their early fifties. My laboratory tests showed fasting glucose 305 mg per deciliter.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

According to your symptoms, you have type 2 diabetes mellitus, which is uncontrolled. Your fasting blood sugar level is 305 milligrams per deciliter, which is more than the normal range. You have all the symptoms of advanced diabetes mellitus type 2.

Here are some medicines and methods to control diabetes:

  • Tablet Metformin Glimepiride (500 milligrams and 2 milligrams) once a day for 30 days.

  • Please stop sugar immediately.

  • Avoid fatty and fried oily food items.

  • Do regular exercise like a morning brisk walk, an evening walk, and other exercises.

  • Avoid strictly fasting food.

Once you follow these methods, your blood sugar level will come under the normal range, and all of these symptoms will disappear, and you will feel more energetic and healthy. Please try this strictly for one month. You will definitely get benefits, and let me know after one month and share your health status. You can go for the hemoglobin A1c (glycated hemoglobin) test to know your three-month blood sugar level.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.

Thank you.
