Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had a smelly discharge after my menstruation for three days and, now I feel menstrual cramps. I only take vitamins like sodium ascorbate, spirulina, and ferrous sulfate. Can you prescribe a medication that reduces cramps during my menstruation?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Based on your symptoms, you mostly have an infection in the uterus or cervical or vaginal area. However, I suggest you get a high vaginal swab culture and sensitivity test to confirm the diagnosis. I am suggesting certain medications to treat your condition. If symptoms persist, you need to consult a local doctor for a local examination. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.

Investigations to be done

High vaginal swab culture and sensitivity test, CBC (complete blood count), and urine routine microscopy.

Treatment plan

Tablet Doxycycline 100 mg one tablet twice a day after food for seven days. Tablet Metronidazole 400 mg one tablet twice a day after food for seven days Tablet Pantop DSR one tablet once a day before breakfast for seven days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.

Regarding follow up

Follow up with me with reports.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
