Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old male. I do not have a history of the disease. I am currently on Lexapro 10 mg. I have done my ECG and lipid profile tests. Does this ECG suggest an ASD or VSD? What is my life expectancy if I have one and I get it repaired? Please help.

Septal defects, when properly and timely corrected, do not affect longevity. So, there is nothing to worry about. At 24 years of age, it seems to be an atrial septal defect; anyway, I would prefer to directly review your cardiac ultrasound report for a more precise professional opinion.
