Can weight loss, fatigue, pain, and skin issues be related?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a few questions. I have been losing weight and have been tired all of the time. I also have had some deep pain on the left side of my body (glute, above the collar bone). I also have developed red, itchy bumps on my legs that only itch like at night. I also developed a clear bump under my tongue and the floor of my mouth. I was wondering if this is all tied to something and if I need to talk to someone.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query. I can understand your concern.

According to your statement, you have been suffering from losing weight, tiredness, and body aches. You have also developed red, itchy bumps on the legs and clear bumps under the tongue and floor of the mouth.

Without undergoing some investigations, it is impossible to detect the specific underlying causes responsible for your present sufferings.

Some investigations like CBC (compleete blood count), RBS (random blood sugar), Thyroid function tests, USG (ultrasonography), Liver function tests, Renal function tests, CXR, Creatine Kinase (CK), CRP (c-reactive protien), ANA (antinuclear antibody) test, Immunoglobulins, RF factor, Vitamin B12 assay, and vitamin D can be helpful to determine the causes for your present clinical features.

Without seeing the results of the above-mentioned investigations, it is quite impossible to comment on anything here. Please try to undergo the above-mentioned investigations and then provide the results here. After interpreting the results of the above-mentioned investigations, we can hopefully determine the underlying causes for your present clinical features.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
