Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a wisdom tooth growing slanted, as it is pushing against my molar, and I have not been able to get it out yet. I just noticed that the swelling on my gums (my dentist is already aware of swelling) has a cut now that is red, and a part of it is a little gray. It does not hurt unless I brush it with my toothbrush. It kind of looks like when you pick a scab off. I am hoping it is not too serious.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The wisdom tooth is the problem. The cut and swelling are due to the wisdom tooth only. However, it may harm you as it will infect the molar near it, and there will be a cavity in the future, and the only option for such teeth is to remove them. Ask your dentist to remove your wisdom tooth. Then, ask an oral surgeon, especially if they are well-trained. Also, for benefits, maintain oral hygiene properly and use mouthwash after brushing twice daily.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
