What could cause wrinkly fingers?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 24-year-old year old female. For the past couple of months, I have been experiencing wrinkly fingers on my right hand even when dry. I thought it was because of the skincare product that I applied with that hand but I have stopped using it for about a week. My fingers are still wrinkled, and today, they began to peel when wet. There is no pain or itchiness.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for your query.
I am very sorry about your medical condition. Do not worry; I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have developed pruney fingers, which may be caused by dehydration, diabetes, thyroid disease, or lupus. Kindly do the fasting sugar test, TFT (thyroid function test), and ANA (antinuclear antibody), and reply to me with the results. I suggest you apply the following.
- Apply 0.2 % Tacrolimus (calcineurin-inhibitor) cream twice daily.
- Apply 0.05 % Clobetasol (corticosteroids) or 0.2 % Hydrocortisone (corticosteroids) for three months. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.
If your symptoms persist, schedule another appointment for follow-up via chat, phone, or video consultation.
Thanks for using icliniq and have a nice day.
