Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 44 years old and missed my period 20 days ago. Pregnancy urine tests have been negative and my beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is 2.1 mIU/mL. I am feeling dizzy and nauseous. Could this be pregnancy?

Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Dizziness and nausea are nonspecific symptoms that can be caused by many things. If your urine test is negative and your beta hCG level is 2.1 mIU/mL, you are not pregnant. Also, note that the chances of becoming pregnant after the age of 40 are very low (less than five percent), and from age 40 onward, a woman is considered to be in the perimenopausal period. During this period, her menstrual cycles can become irregular, with either increasing intervals between periods or very short intervals between them. Therefore, you are not pregnant.

Thank you for using icliniq, and have a nice day.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
