What is osteoporosis, and how does it affect bones?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and can understand your concern. Conditions that cause low testosterone put one at risk for osteoporosis. However, the gradual decrease of testosterone with aging is probably not a major reason for the loss of bone. Diet: Beginning in childhood and into old age, a diet low in calcium and vitamin D can increase your risk for osteoporosis and fractures.

High fever of 102 despite combiflam syrup. Next steps?

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. The cause of fever has to be found out. So, your daughter needs some investigations to be done like CBC (complete blood count) with ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), LFT (liver function test), KFT (kidney function test), serum electrolytes. Please get these investigations done and follow up with a clinician. For symptomatic relief, I would suggest taking Paracetamol 1 g injection.

I have back pain and a respiratory infection. Is it serious?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Yes, your symptoms suggest developing pneumonia. Sometimes, pneumonia presents without a fever, and the best way to diagnose it is to get a chest X-ray. If the chest x-ray is normal, the possibility of URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) is to be kept, and the treatment in both cases will remain the same. I suggest you start with the antibiotic tablet Gramocef-CV (Cefixime 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg) twice daily and tablet Levoflox (Levofloxacin) 750 mg once a day for five days.

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Usually, I would not recommend any patient with COVID-19 take the tablet Rivaroxaban unless they have developed shortness of breath or any other clots. But since you have a family history of blood disorders and you are currently suffering from COVID-19, I recommend taking Rivaroxaban. You should take this for 14 days and then stop if you remain stable. However, considering your age, I highly doubt that you will have a clotting problem.
