Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My mom has a history of kidney disease and is on medications for it. She has a headache, fever, and has been coughing too. I am really worried about her. She feels cold the whole day, though it is winter here, but I am still worried.
I saw online that the first symptoms of meningitis were headache and fever, and that it is contagious. I am worried if anyone else in my family could get it. Meningitis is deadly, and I am not prepared to lose my mom.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query in detail and understand your concern. The symptoms that you have mentioned fit the description of COVID (coronavirus disease).
The good news is this is not meningitis, only mild COVID (coronavirus disease) from which she is going to recover within a week. The bad news is that it is contagious, so your mother needs isolation. You need not worry at all. This disease is mild and just like normal flu. It is not causing a severe illness. I suggest taking this treatment for five days, and she will be completely fine.
1. Tablet Crocin 650 mg (Paracetamol 650 mg) thrice daily.
2. Tablet Medrol 4 mg (Methylprednisolone 4 mg) twice daily for three days, 4 mg once a day for three days, and then stop.
3. Tablet Dazit 5 mg (Desloratidine 5 mg) at night.
4. Syrup Lupituss SF (Levocloperastine 20 mg per 5 mL) thrice daily.
5. Tablet Azithromycin 500 mg once a day.
Kindly consult a doctor and take medicines accordingly.
I hope this helps.
Please revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
