Which medicine works best for severe menstrual pain?

Hello doctor,

I am a 28 year old female nurse, I have been having severe menstrual pain throughout my life, and sadly each year the pain increases. Since I was a college student, each month for all the four days of my period, I had to stay home lying in the fetal position, had to keep a heating pad on my lower abdomen and used to take some serious pills. I have seen so many doctors, and each one of them gave me the diagnosis of endometriosis. After I had done a deep search about this medical condition, I was not happy at all. I even tried contraceptive pills for six month, which reduced my pain but made me gain 19 lbs due to pure water retention. So, I stopped the pills, and the pain returned more aggressively.

Since I start working as a nurse, I am having problems to keep up with the working time during my periods. And my colleagues cannot always help me out to switch working days with me. So, I had a laparoscopy, and they found inflammatory things, but they could not determine what exactly it is. So, I changed my doctor and did an RMI, according to it they found some endometriosis tissues. And I also have a retroverted uterus. I am tired and sick of this issue, and lately, I started taking medicines to help me endure my pain. According to the latest doctor that I consulted, I have only two options, a medication called Visanne or an injection called Decapeptyl. I am terrified from both, because of there side effects and unknown results. And these will make my body go through menopause. Please help me.

Would antibiotics during pregnancy cause any harm?

Hi doctor,

My wife is 8 weeks pregnant. A couple of days before, the doctor did a urine routine and report stated that 12 to 14 pus cells. Then, we did a urine culture as well and after 48 hours of the culture, the report came as bacteria not seen. In this case, do we need to take antibiotics to clear the infections? In the 4 weeks of pregnancy itself, she had an infection and took one week of Ceftum 250 mg antibiotics. Over the course of antibiotics, we repeated the urine routine and everything came as absent.

In my 18th week of pregnancy, clubfoot was diagnosed. Should I undergo amniocentesis?

Hi doctor,

I am in my 18th week of pregnancy. The fetus has been diagnosed with clubfoot when I went for an anomaly scan on the 16th week. There is no other anomaly diagnosed so far. Please let me know if I have to undergo amniocentesis to rule out other associated anomalies. If I am not wrong, I have to undergo the amniocentesis procedure before my 20th week. Thanks in advance.

Could you give your opinion on the medicines prescribed to me?

Hi doctor,

I am 40 years old. I am having one 17 years old boy. After my first baby, I had three miscarriages and I did not get pregnant after. Unexpectedly, I got pregnant a few months ago and now I am in week 14. I had all the necessary tests, which came out normal except the anti-TPO. It is high 319, but I have a normal thyroid hormone test. I have a history of psoriatic arthritis and my gynecologist put me on medication for the rest of my pregnancy as follows. Nexium 40 mg once daily till week 36, Aspirin 75 mg one pill daily till week 36, Prednisone 5 mg once daily till week 32, Innohep 0.35 injections once daily till my due date, Folic acid 5 mg, Ferricure 150 mg once daily started from week 13, Omega 3 and Euro D 10,000 once a week. I am too much worried about my baby. Although, I wish to have another baby, I would like to make sure that my baby is healthy. After reading the side effects of Nexium and Prednisone during pregnancy on the baby, I cannot stop thinking that I may be harming my baby instead of giving protection. I really look forward to your opinion in my case. Thank you.

Will taking a contraceptive pill delayed by an hour of regular time pay way for pregnancy?

Hello doctor,

This is pertaining to my period and my birth control. I had my daughter a little over two months ago and started my birth control last month (I was still having on and off bleeding but it stopped about a week or so after taking my birth control). I started my period on the 3rd of this month and it stopped completely yesterday until I had sex last night. When I went to the bathroom after the fact I was bleeding as if I were on my period and my vagina hurt and burned a little (not when I urinate, just in general). Is this normal? Am I still on period? Next is my birth control. As I stated in the first question I started my birth control last month. Well, I still have one more pill to take out of it and I had unprotected sex last night. I take it at 7 PM every day. Never missed one but we are late taking a couple especially yesterday. I was late by an hour taking the pill. Am I able to get pregnant immediately due to the fact it is still my first month on it and I only have one pill out of the pack?
