Why is my infant passing stool after every feed?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I am sorry for the late reply. As per your query, your baby is passing stools four to five times a day, which is quite familiar in a baby who is on breast milk and formula milk; any stool frequency more than eight to nine times a day is considered abnormal, so need not worry. You can give pre and probiotics like Racigyl SB (Racecadotril) and enzyme supplements like Neosmile (Lactase enzyme) with the same dosage as earlier. You can stop any formula milk if you are giving and give Lactose-free formula milk.

Is my 1 year old's blisters due to molluscum or chickenpox?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. If it is molluscum, nothing to be worried about, but if it is chicken pox, you need to start Acyclovir therapy for faster relief. Are the blisters causing some marks after they fade? Please discuss the likelihood of chickenpox with your pediatrician. You can delay the scheduled vaccine for another week till she is free from this viral infection, because the immune system is altered and the vaccine may flare up the infection. I suggest you hold the vaccine for a week or two.

What is the efficacy of saline nebulization in pediatric cough?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Since your child is having an asthmatic cough, I suggest you give Asthalin (Salbutamol/Albuterol) nebulization and Budecort (Budesonide) nebulization along with an oral cough syrup with Salbutamol or Levosalbutamol. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and with their consent, take the medicines. Just giving normal saline will not help. If the wheezing is heavy, consult your pediatrician.

Will past maternal toxoplasmosis affect my healthy child?

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Usually, toxoplasmosis (a disease caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii that can affect people and animals worldwide) does not affect human beings. It is known to cause problems in animals only. However, if the baby is a female child, then she may have to get tested when she is planning for pregnancy, as it may have some effects during the fertile period. If she is easily getting pregnant, then there is nothing to worry about.
