What causes constant throat irritation and acid reflux?

Hi doctor,

For about five days now, I have this sensation of a pill stuck in the throat right below Adam's apple. There is no pain at all. It is not there in the morning but will show up throughout the day. I can eat and swallow without any problem, and it seems to go away when I eat. It is not quite as bad as the first three days. I did go to urgent care, and the doctor looked at the back of my throat, checked ears, breathing, and checked for swollen nodes and thyroid and said all felt normal. I did explain to him that I have had constant drainage down the back of my throat. There is no runny nose, but stuffy with occasional pain in head and eyes. I said it was probably inflammation in my throat. I notice that the bottom of the throat will get dry and that it is when it is the worst. He gave me Amoxicillin and some liquid allergy medicine to help break up the congestion. I do also have acid reflux. I have been taking 150 mg of Zantac twice a day since then. What are your thoughts on this?

Can sensation in throat be due to throat flap or epiglottis?

Hello doctor,

Feeling of something stuck in the throat that comes and goes. It is mostly there all the time but sometimes it will go away. It actually feels more like that flap in my throat is twisted or I am swallowing it or something. I had a scope down by a GI last week and they said they only thing they found was a hiatal hernia. I just did a barium swallow test today. Waiting for the results. A few weeks ago, I had a swallow study done and they could see somewhere food was catching there on my epiglottis. I just do not know how much more of this I can take. I feel like it is a hairball or something stuck there or like a small flap or skin. My question is would not GI doctor have seen it if that little flap in my throat or epiglottis? Or it was messed up or swollen or something?

Do surgeons remove salivary glands instead of lymph nodes?

Hi doctor,

I had a biopsy done, and the surgeon was supposed to remove a lymph node to check for lymphoma. But, the surgeon removed my salivary gland by mistake. The surgeon sent off the salivary gland without knowing that he had removed the wrong part, and they ran a couple of tests. But, the report stated that they did not have any lymphatic tissue to test, so there were no findings. My surgeon does not feel comfortable with redoing the surgery even though my hematologist says that it needs to be done sometime over the next three months.

How common is it for a surgeon to remove a salivary gland instead of a lymph node? Is this a common mistake? How can this affect me in the future? Does the salivary gland look like a lymph node? Please look over my laboratory reports and scans and tell me your opinion about the diagnosis. The lymph nodes in my neck, clavicle, and groin have been swollen for almost a year and a half, but no infection has shown up in any of my blood work. My throat swells up sometimes on the outside. Also, I have two nodules on my thyroid, which are new, and no nodules on my lungs. It is all in the papers I am sending. My throat swells up sometimes on the outside (both sides), and my tonsils swell up and go down, most lymph nodes stay swollen, but some can go up and down in size just a little. I have good days and bad days -meaning so tired moving is a task. I get chills even when it is 80 degrees Fahrenheit, or I could be burning up while it is freezing out. My hands and feet swell but mostly my hands. I have spurts of nausea that come and go. And just in case it matters, my poop is as thin as my pinkie. Please help.

After wearing braces, I heard a high-pitched sound. Why?

Hi doctor,

I have been wearing braces for teeth alignment. I am towards the end of my treatment and have developed a high pitched sound in my right ear. I consulted with my orthodontist and temporarily removed the wires on two occasions. Both times, the ringing went down after some weeks. When I put on again, the sound started. One ENT I consulted said it could be an allergy to dust in the area I live in. Based on the information I received and the symptoms, I am not sure how to proceed. What is the cause of this issue?

What is the white lesion in my mouth?

Hello doctor,

I have one white lesion in my mouth. I do not know whether it is painful or not because it is very deep and also how long it has been there. Kindly guide me and also tell me if there is any need to worry or it is just only aphthous ulcer. I am not been sexually active for 1.5 years. I do not have any problems with this, like bad breathing, sore throat, etc.
