What is the cause of a white patch on my baby's scrotum?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Since the baby is three months, it could be a birthmark that has developed. Some birthmarks come early in life and some later on such as white spots, dark blackish spots, moles and so on. Another condition is called jock itch caused by infection due to tinea which is a result of sweating imposed fungal infection. What causes recurrent, shifting patches on the tongue?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. One of the causes for such patches is oral thrush, but since antifungal medication like, Nystatin is not helping, it looks like a vitamin C deficiency in the diet. The daily recommended dose is 100 to 200 mg per day, easily attainable by diet, and does not require any supplementation. Please give the child foods rich in vitamin C such as citrus fruits like, lemons, oranges, mandarins, kiwi, strawberries, guava, and papaya. I hope this has helped you.

My baby coughs continuously at night. Please suggest a cure.

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. Assuming that your baby has no other symptoms such as fever or runny nose accompanying the cough, my understanding is that this is a very simple issue of post nasal drip aggravating the gag reflex. This means that nasal secretions flow back into the throat causing a continuous cough like response. My suggestion would be to make the baby sleep with the head on an elevated surface as a pillow and also please avoid cold beverages and citrus foods, particularly after 5 PM. Try this for two to three days.

How often do I need to get a rabies booster for my daughter?

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. The possibility of acquiring rabies by the incident you described is very unlikely. And since it has been ten days already and if there was contamination, then your daughter would have shown some symptoms by now. So I would suggest you to be calm and get her vaccination done according to the schedule given to you and no need of any prophylactic intervention now. Please feel free to contact for any further queries.
