Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms of burning acid reflux (stomach acid rising into your esophagus), bloating, gas, and indigestion (discomfort after eating) are very common digestive complaints.

They are often related to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD happens when stomach acid flows back up into the esophagus and causes heartburn. Sometimes, they overlap with functional dyspepsia (a digestive condition without a clear cause), in which the stomach becomes sensitive, and digestion feels uncomfortable even when tests are normal.

The medication you are taking, Omeprazole, helps reduce stomach acid and is commonly used for reflux. However, bloating and gas may persist if digestion is slowed, if certain foods trigger symptoms, or if gut bacteria are imbalanced. Dicyclomine may reduce intestinal spasms but does not treat the underlying reflux.

Lifestyle adjustments are very important. Try to avoid heavy, oily, spicy, or acidic foods, as well as caffeine, alcohol, and carbonated drinks. Eat smaller meals and avoid lying down for at least two to three hours after eating. Elevating the head of the bed slightly at night can reduce reflux symptoms. Increasing fiber gradually, drinking adequate water, and taking short walks after meals can help improve digestion and reduce bloating.

If symptoms persist, further evaluation by a gastroenterologist may be helpful. Tests sometimes recommended include screening for Helicobacter pylori infection, abdominal ultrasound, and, occasionally, an upper endoscopy to examine the stomach and esophagus.

Most patients improve with the right combination of medication, diet modification, and healthy lifestyle habits. If you experience alarm symptoms such as persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, weight loss, or black stools, you should seek medical attention promptly.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
