Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have redness in my throat and the right tonsil area, but the tonsil is not big. And there is no pain or discomfort while swallowing. My ears are clogged. It has been one month. Sometimes I feel a sensation in the right side tonsil, which is also red and headache at the same time, but it is not swollen, and the left side tonsil is normal without redness. This happened from the day I took the COVID vaccine. Please rule out any serious condition. Earlier before one month from taking the vaccine also I was suffering from a throat problem like the feeling of something stuck in my throat, but after having antibiotics, I felt better. What could be the issue? I am under the following medications: 1) Tablet Leon 500 for ten days. 2) Tablet Levotiz Plus for ten days (after this Levotiz A for 20 days). 3) Tablet Amicobal for 30 days. Past medications are Dalacin 300 injection for five days and Zerodol-SP. Have done the following tests: 1) Blood R/E - TLC. 2) DLC - neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils. 3) Hb%. 4) ESR. 5) IGE test. Kindly give your opinion.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your problem seems to be simple acidity and reflux of acid into the throat. This is mostly silent, and no symptoms of pain exist, except for redness. This reflux is more common on the right side than on the left. You can take anti-reflux medication like PAN-D (Pantoprazole and Domperidone) twice a day for ten days. And do some lifestyle modifications like: 1) Stop drinking coffee, tea, and aerated beverages. Instead, you can take health drinks like boost, etc. 2) Short, frequent meals instead of three heavy meals. 3) Early dinner. 4) Sleep turning to the left side. This will reduce your problem. If not we will see after one week. I hope this was helpful.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you. Is there a possibility of a serious problem like cancer? My doctor said after looking at the blood test, everything is normal. Still, I am scared. Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, but reflux untreated for a long period needs to be closely followed up. Please get back if you have further queries.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you. How to take the Pan-D tablet, at what time and before food or after food? And should I continue the other tablets? Kindly give your opinion.

Answered by Dr. Deepthi. M

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Pan-D tablet should be taken twice daily, half an hour before food. No other tablet is required. Lifestyle changes should be strictly followed. Along with that, some stress management because stress is a major factor causing reflux. We will see for ten days, then follow up. I hope this was helpful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
