What are the symptoms of acid reflux?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 59 years old and have had issues in my stomach, chest, and throat for the last three years. I feel heaviness in my throat and chest. I did an endoscopy and ultrasound, whatever is required. I consulted an ENT specialist and a physician for the same.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to iclinic.com

I understand your concern.

All those complaints seem to be due to acid reflux from the esophagus to the stomach. Most people have normal results during endoscopy. I would suggest the following:

  • Avoid oily and spicy foods.
  • Avoid caffeinated and aerated drinks.
  • Try to reduce weight if you are overweight.
  • Try to reduce your weight if you are overweight.
  • Eat small, frequent meals.
  • Take tablet Pantocid (Pantoprazole) 40 mg once a day before food.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
