How to get rid of pimples in short duration?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from acne for many years and at present, noticed a giant pimple on my forehead and concerned as I have to attend a function in five days and want to look as best as I can. I have been washing my face twice a day and have been using an apple cider vinegar wash and tea tree oil once a day. I am also advised to use a charcoal scrub. Is it beneficial? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I have reviewed the photos sent by you (attachments have been removed to protect the patient's identity). Acne Vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and adults. It involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and affects areas with dense oil glands like the face, chest, back, and upper arms. Your case looks like grade 1 to grade 2 acne. You have very little time, but as acne requires gradual treatment I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions:

  1. Apply Faceclin gel(Clindamycin) during the day over pimples.
  2. Apply Microbenz 3.5% (Benzoyl peroxide) gel at night, all over the face for two to three months.
  3. Use Face care face wash(Niacinamide) for cleaning twice daily.
  4. Donot go for bleaching or other remedies that confirm the best results in a short duration, as it may cause allergic reactions.
  5. Avoid oily, spicy, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian foods.
  6. Drink lots of water that helps in skin hydration.
  7. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
