Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am female, my height is 5 feet 4 inches, and my weight is 148 pounds. I recently removed my facial hair through waxing and threading for the first time, and since then, I have been developing pimples on my face.
I want to know whether Obril gold is a safe serum and whether it is comedogenic.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Acne after shaving and waxing is common, especially if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin. To manage this, use Clindamycin one percent gel or lotion twice daily, both during the day and at night, for two weeks. It will help in managing post-facial hair removal acne.
In case of itching, take one tablet of Cetirizine 10 mg at bedtime for five to seven days. Waxing may not be suitable for many people, so consider switching to razor removal or laser hair removal to prevent future acne breakouts.
Regarding your query about Obril gold serum, it contains Retinol, Niacinamide, and Kojic acid and is suitable for radiance, firmness, and hydration. It is non-comedogenic and free from parabens. Overall, it is a good product, but use it only after your acne has settled down, as Retinol can cause stinging. You can start using it after acne clearance, applying it two to three times weekly at bedtime, along with sunblock in the morning.
Still, perform a patch test when using it for the first time by applying it to one side of the cheek and observing for 48 hours, as many products contain fragrances and other ingredients that can cause issues for sensitive skin. It is always better to be safe.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
