Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 61 years old. I have been taking tablet Amixide at night for 20 years as advised by a psychiatrist. But now, I am facing sleep problems, including difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. I am feeling anxious for this reason. I am also taking tablet Amlodac 0.5 mg in the morning. When treated with tablet Indirol 20 mg, I faced sleep difficulty.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Tablet Amixide is a combination of Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide. The drug is a good anti-anxiety drug. But since you have been taking this for a long most likely, you have developed tolerance to this drug. So if even on taking medicine, your anxiety and sleep problems persist, then I think there is a need for reevaluation.

Either some other Benzodiazepine like Clonazepam should be added to the prescription along with stopping of tablet Amixide and addition of plain tablet Amitriptyline at a dose of 25 mg or more. This should help you. You can talk with your doctor about this.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Thank you sir. Please give me your prescription for purchasing those drugs.
Hi again For prescription you have to visit a doctor in person. As per government rules I am not able to provide you online prescription. Thanks

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
