Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Three years ago, I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. Presently, I have no problem, and my heart rhythm is normal. Can I go to the gym and do bodybuilding exercises? If not, then which sport can I play? I want to stay fit and healthy for the rest of my life. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You can go to the gym. However, I suggest you get an ECG (electrocardiogram) and echocardiography. Also, do you have any symptoms of AF (atrial fibrillation)? What are the medicines that you are taking? Some rate-limiting medicines can negatively affect your athletic performance. Also, AF is a risk factor for stroke. Are you taking any preventive medicine? Kindly revert with the answers. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
