Hello doctor,

I am

47 years old and recently diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib. The structure of my heart is normal. Can you prevent AFib at 47 by avoiding gluten and dairy? I have read that diet can help reduce inflammation and arrhythmia triggers .

My episodes are often after heavy meals or alcohol. I once had a little low magnesium level. Is food elimination evidence-based or just anecdotal? Can diet change to help reduce episodes or are medicines still needed?

I am trying to make lifestyle changes before going on long term meds, but I don't want to rely on myths. There is so much conflicting advice online it is difficult to know what is actually helpful vs placebo.
