How do I manage ATT side-effects taken for TB arthritis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have tubercular arthritis in my right hip. My job requires me to be physically and mentally fit. Presently, I have been on ATT for the last eight months, which has shown some improvement, but it also has some cartilage damage and synovial thickening, which is causing pain.

Is there a remedy to go off this pain like cartigrow and am I eligible for that, please see my MRI and reports and let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your MRI shows (attachment removed to protect patient identity) tubercular arthritis involving both hip joints, with more extensive disease on the right than left. It is associated with synovial thickening and joint space reduction; however, extensive cartilage erosions are not mentioned.

At this imaging stage, we need to wait until the infection resolves, and then, in the healing stage, we have to consider regenerative treatments.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
