Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am currently six months pregnant and experiencing severe back pain. A few years ago, I had a bike accident where I flipped on the road a few times, but there were no fractures at that time. The pain is sharp and comes and goes, making it difficult to sit or lay down comfortably. I am currently taking Iron and Calcium supplement medications as part of my medication during pregnancy. Kindly suggest remedy for pain relief.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. I would like to inform you that as the pregnancy progresses, the pressure on the lower abdomen and back increases, which can lead to back pain, especially considering your history of back injury. To manage the pain, I suggest you follow the following instructions:

  1. Take a tablet containing 100 mg of Aceclofenac, 325 mg of Paracetamol, and 15 mg of Serratiopeptidase whenever necessary, but avoid using it regularly.
  2. Additionally, using hot fomentations can be helpful in providing relief.
  3. When sitting on a chair or couch, use a pillow or cushion for back support.
  4. Avoid engaging in activities that require frequent bending, as it may worsen the pain.
  5. Continue taking your iron tablets as prescribed.
  6. Staying hydrated is essential, so aim to drink at least three liters of water per day.
  7. Incorporate more green leafy vegetables and fruits into your diet for better nutrition.

I suggest you consult a gynecologist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
