Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 40 years old, having mild back pain for four years and no leg pain, but while traveling on sitting, I have mild lower back pain. So I got an MRI scanning as suggested by the doctor, and hence the results are, straightening of lumbar curvature. Lumbar spondylosis is more marked at L4 to L5 levels with diffuse circumferential disc bulge indenting the ventral thecal sac and causing mild to moderate narrowing of lateral recesses and neural foramina with associated nerve root compression. What will be the possible treatment for this condition? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. I suggest you to avoid lifting heavy weights, avoid bending your back, instead bend your knees to pick up anything from the floor, avoid sitting for long hours, avoid motorcycle rides improve your posture while sitting, try to get up from your chair every 20 minutes, take a quick walk and then continue working, always sit with back support, do not get up suddenly from a sleeping position; rather, turn to one side and get up, take bed rest in case of severe pain, do hot fomentations over the affected area twice daily, and apply Oxalgin gel (Diclofenac sodium, Methyl salicylate, and Menthol) twice daily. I would suggest the medicines which are, tablet Pregabalin 75 mg once daily before food for ten days, tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg twice daily after food for ten days, tablet Rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily before food for ten days, tablet Shelcal 500 mg (calcium and vitamin D3) twice daily before food for thirty days, and tablet Vitamin D 60K units once daily for ten days, then once a month for 11 months. Take these medicines only after consulting a doctor and if you are not allergic. Also, do not take these medicines if you have bronchial asthma.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
