Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25 year old female. I noticed a yellowish-brown coating on my pubic hair and underarms. The affected area is smelly too. Is this something to be worried about? What medicine should I take? I have uploaded an image that is very similar to my condition.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the image (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and understand your concern. It appears to be trichomycosis axillaris, caused by Corynebacterium. Bath twice with Frolix soap (non-alkaline and skin-friendly) and apply Aldry (Aluminium chlorohydrate) lotion twice daily on dry skin. Keep the area dry at all times.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Do I need to use the Frolix soap every day? Can I use the Aldry lotion on pubic hair as well?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, you can.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Will it infect my scalp hairs? If so, what should I do?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your scalp will not get infected with this bacteria. This is not a contagious problem, and it will not spread as well. Please do not worry.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
