How to treat a sore glans penis with no discharge?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
A small portion of my glans penis is sore for the last five days. If I press the area, it hurts. There is no burning micturition and no discharge. Kindly suggest some medicine.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I went through the image (the attachment removed to protect the patient's identity).
If there was unprotected sex, one needs to think of sexually transmitted infection. So, I suggest you do the following tests:
1. TPHA (Treponema pallidum hemagglutination) test.
2. HPV PCR test (human papillomavirus polymerase chain reaction).
3. Herpes simplex virus one and two antibodies tests.
4. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG antibody test.
5. Human immunodeficiency virus screening test.
6. Hepatitis B surface antigen test.
7. Urine complete test.
If not, it can be a simple bacterial infection. I suggest you use an antibacterial ointment for local application and take a tablet of Doxycycline (tetracycline antibiotic) 100 mg twice a day for five days. In case of a fungal infection, an antifungal ointment is suggested. Make sure you wash your genitalia twice daily using normal water.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.
Hope it helps.
Thanks and regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for your reply.
There was no unprotected sex. I had a hand job in a massage parlor. Do I need investigations?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If it is only a hand job, it can lead to bacterial infection or injury. I suggest you take an antibiotic medicine, and apply an antibacterial ointment as suggested.
Hope it helps.
Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
The pain has decreased but has not completely gone. I have also got a complete STD panel done, and my reports are normal. I also consulted a urologist, who prescribed Gabapin NT 100 and Mometazone ointment. How long will it take for this pain to go?
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I had checked the picture (attachments removed to protect patient identity). The pain will take one to two weeks to disappear completely. Gabapin (Gabapentin) will help you.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
