Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male having allergy on the head part of my penis and the inner skin of my penis. I had consulted a local doctor. The doctors said it was just an allergy and gave me some tablets and ointments. But it is not resolving. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

You have balanitis or balanoposthitis. The predisposing factors for your condition include poor hygiene and overwashing, use of over-the-counter medications, and nonretraction of the foreskin. The ailment can also be associated with diabetes or candidal fungal infections. I suggest you undergo investigations for blood sugar levels and KOH (potassium hydroxide preparation) mount for candidiasis. Treatment methods like gently retracting the foreskin daily and soaking them in warm water to clean the penis and foreskin can help. I suggest you use a combination of Fusidic acid and Clotrimazole twice daily for one month. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. Please review with a photo for a better assessment and the best possible treatment of your concern.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
