Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been suffering from bilateral AVN. I had a hip replacement surgery done on the right side one and a half months ago. I am attaching the X-ray reports of those taken immediately after the surgery and also a more recent one taken last week. I have a doubt regarding the screw movement. While in the one taken post-surgery, the screws are inside the bone, in the X-ray taken later, it has moved outside. They used a DePuy Synthes implant.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through both the reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). What you have observed is true, but it is not because of the screw moving. This is because of the way the X-ray has been taken. I reassure you there is nothing to worry. Your bone is good, and the implants are fine and well placed.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Will I be able to squat, pick things from the floor or wear my socks once I recover?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
This depends on your doctor's techniques and the approach that was used during the surgery. If he had used a posterior approach then squatting is a big no. You can put on the socks by yourself, but take care not to twist your legs. It is best to discuss these precautions with your treating doctor as he will know best.
