Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I want to know if my two sister's grandson and granddaughter get married, will their baby become abnormal? Or will the marriage affect their kid in any other way? Please explain.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com. The likelihood of abnormalities in offspring depends on whether the sisters are married to their cousins or if the parents of the grandchildren are cousins themselves. If there is a close blood relation in either of these scenarios, the chances of abnormalities increase with each successive generation. However, if neither of the previous generations had any blood relation, then the chances of genetic abnormalities in the offspring are generally very low.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
The grandparents are real sisters. The parent of the boy and girl are cousins and they have married to someone else. So, is the possibility are same to have abnormal babies?
