Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have three questions. One is when you clean with bleach on a paper towel, can germs go through the paper towel? Second is when you clean the toilet, do you need to wash your hands in between each step and between everything that is being wiped? The third is when you have sex, should you shower before sex and will I be spreading germs throughout my house if I do not shower before or after?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Answering the questions.

Bleach is a disinfectant. So it kills the germs. So germs will not usually spread. But be careful of spores. Next while cleaning the toilet, I suggest you clean your hands after completing the entire process of cleaning. Not required between each step. Thoroughly cleaning your hands will help.

Before sex, shower keeps you clean and helps your partner to avoid infection as some commensals can be present in your skin and genital tract. Usually, the linen can get infected because of the secretions but not the whole house.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
