Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had this underarm odor for four months. I do not know why I have this. I always take a bath every day. When I sweat, my underarm stinks. I used Rexona as my antiperspirant but when I found out that I have an underarm odor, I changed to Nivea. I also tried some home remedies like baking soda, lemon, and calamine. I noticed that Nivea is not effective for me. So, I decided to change back to Rexona again. What should I do? This problem makes me worried and conscious every time I sweat. Please help me. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Bad odor is due to the presence of microorganisms in the axilla. I would suggest using an antiperspirant containing Aluminium hexahydrate chloride like Aldry lotion in the underarms at night followed by a bath in the morning. Also, use an antibacterial cream containing Fusidic acid cream on the underarm skin during the daytime along frequent application of an antifungal powder.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
