Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had this underarm odor for four months. I do not know why I have this. I always take a bath every day. When I sweat, my underarm stinks. I used Rexona as my antiperspirant but when I found out that I have an underarm odor, I changed to Nivea. I also tried some home remedies like baking soda, lemon, and calamine. I noticed that Nivea is not effective for me. So, I decided to change back to Rexona again. What should I do? This problem makes me worried and conscious every time I sweat. Please help me.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Bad odor is due to the presence of microorganisms in the axilla. I would suggest using an antiperspirant containing Aluminium hexahydrate chloride like Aldry lotion in the underarms at night followed by a bath in the morning. Also, use an antibacterial cream containing Fusidic acid cream on the underarm skin during the daytime along frequent application of an antifungal powder.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
