Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I sleep fine (usually), but lately, I have been sleeping for 10 to 16 hours a day. It is beginning to impact my study and learning to drive (yeah, late to the game due to a disability). I eat pretty healthy and drink heaps of water but have been relying on coffee (around three to five cups a day, depending on what I need to do) to stay awake for less than three hours at a time lately. Any tips on having more energy? I have a DNET brain tumor in my right temporal lobe that causes epilepsy and minor anxiety, and I take: 200 mg Tegretol morning and night, 500 mg Keppra morning, 1000 mg Keppra night, and 20 mg Lexam morning. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is best to get physically examined and investigated to rule out any medical condition and treat it accordingly. The medicines you are taking might be reducing the activity level. Follow up with the treating doctor.

Walk yoga exercise as healthy habits permits started gradually will help.

Check vitals, including BP (blood pressure) per weight.

Avoid stress-strain exertion lifting heavy weight, and rigorous exercise.

Take healthy three meals a day and multiple healthy small snacks every two hours.

Avoid coffee.

Have green tea instead if you need.

Check blood sugar levels.

I hope you find it helpful.
