Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a female, age 26, 5' in height, and 105 pounds (last time I checked, but I might have gained 4 pounds now). I have been experiencing difficulty breathing for the past couple of months, but the worst was last month because it happened as I was about to sleep. I suddenly felt like the air was not getting inside my nose. It looks like it is just up to my chest. Ever since then, I have been getting recurring breathlessness.
It happens often when I am in a closed or small space, and when it is very hot and humid. Temperature is normal. I do not have symptoms of COVID other than breathlessness. Sometimes, I have to remind myself to breathe because it does not happen voluntarily. I am not sure if this is psychological, but I need help. I have a history of pneumonitis, and I was not able to finish my DOTS because I keep forgetting to take my medicines, and it always gets back to zero.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
How many months did you take DOTS therapy? Is there any cough? Is there sputum production? When did you take treatment for pneumonitis? Possible causes may be:
Anxiety neurosis.
Panic attacks.
Bronchial asthma.
Treatment default for tuberculosis.
Acid reflux with asthmatic attacks.
Until an examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Use the tablet Deriphyllin twice a day for five days. Use one tablet of Alprazolam 0.25 mg at night for five days. Get a chest X-ray and an ECG done. Please review the reports or consult your physician; he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Thank you.
