Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

As I said in my previous query, I have been having brown discharge for two months now. It started two months ago, and I was very stressed every day, and before that, I did not have my periods for three months.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please do not worry. I completely understand that you are anxious and concerned about your health. Let us try and get to the bottom of this, and hopefully, I can help you resolve this soon.

From what you have described so far about your missing periods, it appears you may have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which is essentially a hormonal imbalance. It is very common across females of your age and is very treatable.

In order for me to help you, I need you to answer a few of my questions listed below:

1. Have you been sexually active during this period?

2. Can we positively rule out pregnancy?

3. Have you experienced any excessive weight gain or hair growth during this time? (These are all additional symptoms indicative of PCOS.)

4. Is the discharge causing any itching, or does it have any foul odor or smell? (These could be signs of vaginitis which is also extremely treatable.)

I need you to complete the following examinations to assess your current status. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the examinations with their consent. It will help me make further recommendations or suggestions.

1. Ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis.

2. Blood Tests. (Complete blood count, thyroid function, serum FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), and LH (luteinizing hormone), (serum testosterone, serum prolactin).

3. Urine pregnancy test.

Please share the reports with me as soon as you can post, and we can decide your future course of action.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
