Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am pregnant and have almost completed two months of pregnancy. I have already taken the first dose of the vaccine. The problem is that I am experiencing dark brown discharge. I consulted a doctor, and the doctor advised me to take tablet Duphaston (Dydrogesterone) 10 mg, but it did not help, and I still have a dark brown discharge. Please share your suggestion.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Minimal spotting or brown discharge can occur in the first twelve weeks of pregnancy and is normal if not associated with pain or cramp. It is called implantation bleeding and will stop on its own by twelve weeks or on starting Duphaston (Dydrogesterone) 10 mg. This medicine supports pregnancy, and in case of bleeding, it helps control it.
If you are bleeding or spotting and it is causing you concern, I recommend getting a scan done. The scan will rule out any subchorionic hemorrhage, cervical length, and the baby's general well-being. If all is good in the scan and you still have spots, you can continue the Duphaston, and bleeding will stop by twelve weeks.
Hope this was useful.
