Common "Buddy Strapping" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Buddy Strapping

Buddy taping helps to give alignment, support, and protection by securing a digit that needs to be immobilized (for example, due to an accident or deformity) to a nearby, uninjured digit. As the wounded finger moves through its range of motion, the unaffected digit supports it. Buddy taping is recommended for small finger sprains, nondisplaced stable proximal or middle phalanx fractures, and proximal interphalangeal (PIP) dislocations (reduced).
