How to manage burning pain in the stomach?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I ate chia pudding this morning for the first time and now I have an extreme burning pain in my stomach. For lunch, I ate a salad and while I was eating I ate something crunchy (I made the salad myself and there was nothing crunchy in there). I am allergic to cashews, pistachios, and Brazil nuts and once I ate that crunchy thing I had the feeling of an allergic reaction in my mouth. I do not have it anymore.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

You have a food allergy to certain foods, according to history. It is better to avoid such foods in your diet. This time you can have gastritis problem.

I suggest you to do the following:

  1. Take an antacid, like the tablet Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor).

  2. Cooked oatmeal helps in soothing the stomach.

  3. Avoid excess spicy food intake.

If no improvement, then further work will be planned.

If you have any other specific complaints like diarrhea, fever, skin rash, etc then mention it.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
