Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 25 years old. I had a cataract with my right eye for about five years without a concrete reason. They theorized that it might be a cause of traumatic cataracts, which then developed into a mature one. I had my operation eight years ago. Since then, my eyes can see with clear and bright sight but cannot focus on an object completely and cannot read near. I was wondering if I am still in the development or adapting stage since when I went to have eyeglasses, it feels like it improved a little with my right eye's far-sighted vision but still can read near. Now I still cannot read near with my right eye. Hoping for your positive reply. Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.
After IOL (intraocular lens) implantation, a person needs to wear glasses both for distance and near vision. You may need two pair of glasses, one pair which will help you see clearly from a distance and another pair which will help you see clearly at a close distance. You may use bifocal glasses, which have power for both (distance and near) in one glass. Having said that, kindly share your glasses prescription so that I may guide you better.
Hope this answers your query.
Regards.
