Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a corneal laceration from 4 to 6 o clock. Last year after the cornea suture I still did not gain vision due to a traumatic cataract. I had traumatic cataract surgery last year and still, my sight has not improved. Still regarded as legally blind in one eye. My doctor said there is a posterior capsule opacity and I needed YAG laser surgery, which I had this year, still, my condition did not improve. I have totally lost faith in my doctor as I know issues like mine cannot be easily handled in my country. Referring to the attached pictures, my doctor said I should persevere more and that site will improve over time, how long more do I wait? It is over a year now. Do I need a cornea transplant? Is the scar affecting my vision? Please look at the pictures closely as my doctor said the scar should not affect my vision as it is not in the center. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is clear that before the cataract operation, we cannot define the sight (visual acuity) but after days of operation did you see something better, then after the YAG laser, you saw something better or not always the same vision. Is there any whiteness on the cornea near the scar? Now you said that you are almost legally blind in this eye what is your vision in it.1/6 or some more if less: can you count fingers by this eye, and at any distance, five meters or less, if you cannot count fingers you can distinguish the movement of the hand, if no you can see the light or no. Your doctor said that the scar is far from the visual axis (the center) but what did he say about the cause of the vision decrease? What about the fundus and retina? If the retina and the fundus of the eye are well and there is no whiteness in the cornea in the center and the vision is about 1/6 or even counting fingers, it is probably to be a big degree of astigmatism due to the scaring. If the vision is so low that hand movement then there is a problem in the retina or the inside part of the eyeball. Check the sight (visual acuity) and the fundus. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
