Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have got a bit of a worry about my friend and colleague. She is 46 and dealing with diabetes and high cholesterol, and now she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. The doctor is suggesting a hysterectomy, but I am concerned about what that might mean for her.
I have heard that a hysterectomy can cause other issues, especially with hormones. Is that true? Could you explain a bit more about cervical cancer treatment? I want to understand what she is going through and how I can support her better.
Kindly help.
Hi
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
A hysterectomy is generally a safe procedure; however, like any surgical intervention, it carries some risks. It is advisable to seek consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist surgeon for the best guidance and care.
I hope this information will help.
