Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Had sex a week ago with a condom. The testicle now looks red. I have no pain or burning symptoms, though. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It is an allergic reaction to latex contact. I would suggest the following medications. Apply 1 % Hydrocortisone cream or Desonide cream twice daily for ten days to reduce inflammation. Tablet Loratidine 10 mg once a day after breakfast for ten days. Apply moisturizer three times daily for ten days. Avoid scratching and rubbing lesions. Keep the area clean and dry. Maintain proper hygiene. Kind regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
So my symptoms do not look like pre-herpes?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
No, it is not herpes. You have no burning or tingling sensation. To rule out herpes, get HSV (herpes simplex virus) 2, Ig (immunoglobulin)G, IgM test done. Herpes presents grouped inflammatory lesions like papules, blisters, sores, and vesicles. Practice safe sex. Was there a condom tear. Do you had unprotected sexual contact? Was there Fluid contact? Kind Regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Do you think it could be epididymitis or Chlamydia - My scrotum is red all around. Although again, there is no painful urination. And I think any other pain is in my head at the moment, but I am a high anxiety guy. Only thing I can also think of for red scrotum is I went for a three-hour bike ride, but I do bike a lot, and have never seen this. So then I got worried it is epididymitis.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Sometimes redness could be due to chronic torsion, pressure, vigorous sex, idiopathic cause(unknown cause), epididymitis, orchitis or abuse, or infective cause. Chlamydia is rare as there are no symptoms of burning or itching and no mucoid discharge. It would be best to get an STI (sexually transmitted infections) panel test (chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes Type 1 & 2 (HSV), HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), syphilis, and trichomoniasis) to rule out possible infection. Kind regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Cause you are saying chlamydia would rarely present this way - like with red scrotum or testicles first, correct? It- So I should probably relax and get tested. Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Apply 1 % Hydrocortisone (cream or gel) or Desonide at night for seven days to reduce redness. Yes, no need to worry. Get tested and follow up with reports. Clean the area with an cleanser, no soap cleanser, or cleanser daily for 20 days. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesion vigorously. Avoid prolonged friction, pressure, and vigorous sex. Wear loose, comfortable thin cotton wears. Kind regards.
