How will my thumb tip heal with a cut and scab?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

The tip of my thumb got cut, and a little amount of bone was exposed, but not damaged. We used a clotting powder, and it formed a huge scab.

Will it heal?

please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It looks like you have a deep soft tissue injury. You need to take care of the following three things.

  1. Keep the area clean to avoid infection.
  2. Remove all dead or non-viable tissues.
  3. Avoid applying any inert substances, as it may slow healing.

I hope it is clear for you.

Please get back if any new issues appear. Get well soon.

Thank you.
