Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My dermatologist prescribed me Clindaze toner, Papulex oil-free cream, and Epiduo gel for acne. My concern is I heard that Clindamycin is not good for long-term use. How long should I use Clindaze toner, and what are the alternatives for Clindaze toner if I cannot use it for long?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Clindamycin is an antibiotic. It can be safely used for acne because it acts on the bacteria present on the skin. Papulex cream (Nicotinamide and Zinc) and Epiduo (Adapalene and Benzoyl peroxide) gel are great for inflammatory acne. I do not see any reason for you to be worried about Clindaze (Clindamycin) toner. Clindamycin is very safe for the face, and it should be used with Benzoyl peroxide to prevent the issue of resistance. Since you are using it, you should be good.

Thank you.
