Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am seeking a clitoroplasty as I have some hypertrophy in that area due to PCOS. It has been more than three years, the growth stopped when I was 20 years old, and I am now 23 years old. I take Ginette 35 mg and Spironolactone 75 mg every day. I had got a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound and routine blood work done for PCOS. It has caused me a lot of psychological distress and anxiety, and it is affecting my social and mental well-being. I would like to know how I would bring this up to a doctor.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns. However, you should go to your doctor for a physical examination and go for surgery according to your condition. Not every clitoral hypertrophy needs to be treated.
I hope you found this helpful; feel free to ask for more information.
Good luck.
Regards.
Patient's Query
Hello,
Thank you for the reply.
I was wondering what you meant by not every clitoral hypertrophy needs to be treated. Can you please explain?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
My point is that sometimes hypertrophy is due to some hormonal changes, and it can be treated with the help of medicine, but most of the time, extra tissue is removed with the help of surgery.
I hope you found this helpful.
Regards.
