Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 27-year-old male. I would like to get your opinion on my CBC report. Shall I attach my report?

Answered by Dr. Prakash. H. M.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please do attach the report of the CBC (complete blood count). I will be able to comment further once I see it.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have attached my CBC report. Please have a look.

Answered by Dr. Prakash. H. M.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Based on the report attached (attachment removed to protect patient identity), my opinion is as follows:

  1. The red blood cells are well formed, and overall it looks excellent. The platelet count is good, and the size is normal.
  2. Regarding WBC (white blood cells), except for lymphocytes, which appears to be a bit low, everything else looks good. The lymphocytes are only mildly reduced, which when looking at the overall percentage is not to be worried.
  3. Overall, the report indicates your CBC is good. Repeat after six months or as necessary.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Please look into my blood chemistry report.

Answered by Dr. Prakash. H. M.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Based on your new report (attachment removed to protect patient identity), my opinion is as follows:

  1. Except for glucose level being high and total protein a bit high, most of the other part of the report looks normal.
  2. I am not sure if the blood glucose level is random or fasting. If random, then nothing to worry. If fasting blood glucose, then if not already on treatment, you have possibly impaired glucose tolerance. Lifestyle changes including diet and exercises are necessary to avoid going into diabetes mellitus.
  3. Mildly increased protein could be secondary to dehydration or a recent protein rich diet. Nothing to worry about this.
  4. If not sure about being random or fasting, get a fasting plasma glucose levels or still better HbA1c test or glycosylated hemoglobin levels done.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
